Join us for a day on the hill!

HASP will be meeting with legislators during the opening day of the 2026 legislative session to advocate for the needs of keiki and their ʻohana.

First three registrants will receive a free HASP shirt, to be collected at the capital after check-in!

Legislative Priorities:

  1. Establish credentialing requirements for school psychologists, ensuring all keiki receive appropriate school psychological services by highly trained school psychologists
  2. Establish national certification parity for School Psychologists, rewarding school psychologists who maintain the highest level of credentialing possible, and aiding HIDOE in recruiting and retaining highly qualified school psychologists

Details:

We will meet in the rotunda at the capitol between 8:00 and 8:30 AM to network with other organizations and take a picture all together. We will brief you on what to expect, then break into teams based on your voting district to advocate for our legislative priorities!

Where your school psychology or state association swag!

Once you have met with all of your legislators, our state delegate and legislative co-chair, Alec Marentic, will be in the rotunda and available for any participants seeking to debrief the day.

Information on getting to the capitol:

Parking and traffic are difficult at the capitol during opening day. It is suggested that participants utilize uber, walking, or bicycles to get to the capitol.
